Eagle Scouts and Families,
We are excited to launch a new pilot program for the Mecklenburg County Council designed specifically for Eagle Scouts who are thinking about what comes next.
On Thursday, Oct 29 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, we will host our first Eagle Career Mentorship Roundtable at the Council Service Center. This event is designed for Eagle Scouts who are juniors or seniors in high school or early college, making decisions about college, majors, careers, or other next steps.
This will not be a lecture or a panel. Instead, the evening will be structured as small group, round robin conversations. Scouting alumni will host tables representing different career paths, and Scouts will rotate every 15 minutes to engage directly with multiple professionals over the course of the evening.
We have confirmed a diverse group of Eagle Scout mentors, including leaders in law, medicine, finance, audit, engineering, real estate, cybersecurity, military service, consulting, and executive leadership. These are individuals who have built successful careers and are willing to share not just what worked, but what they would do differently.
Conversations will focus on practical topics such as:
- Choosing a college or alternative path
- Early career decisions and pivots
- Lessons learned and common mistakes
- How Scouting influenced long term success
At the end of the evening, Scouts will have the option to express interest in longer term mentorship connections, with appropriate structure and visibility for families.
Space is limited for this pilot event so that discussions remain meaningful and interactive.
To register, please complete the RSVP form below.
When registering, be sure to indicate the career fields you are most interested in so we can match you with the right mentors.
