Staff Information and Requirements
Thank you for offering your time to Hornets Nest Day Camp! We are excited to have you on our team. We pride ourselves in providing the best quality and safest program we can for our children.
The guidelines for our Volunteer Staff require that every staffer attend "Day Camp 101" training, as well as have completed Youth Protection Training and Weather Hazards. These are non-negotiable. Even if you are only spending one day with HNDC, these are required.
For Den Walkers and Station Leads, an additional training is required: Youth-on-Youth Abuse Prevention. Youth-on-Youth Abuse Prevention will be offered twice in the coming months. This is also non-negotiable for these positions. As with the other training, your tenure is immaterial- it is required.
There is a $25 rebate per scout per family for Full Week Volunteers. Having completed Training is a part of that. If you are not trained, even if you donate a full week of your time for our camp, you will not receive your $25 rebate.
Please see the Calendar of Important Dates below to plan which sessions which you will attend. If more sessions open up, they will be announced via email and on Facebook. Plan ahead and prepare!
Thank you, again, for your time and service. We are grateful to have you on our team and are looking forward to spending the week with you together making it a fantastic week for our youth.
Staff Position Descriptions and Agreement - All staff are required to read the description of the position which they are filling and sign copy of the agreement.
