Before registering, Scouts, parents, and unit leaders should read the Winter Camp 2022 Guide
Location: Belk Scout Camp, 9408 Belt Rd, Midland, NC 28107
Mecklenburg County Council will hold its 7th annual Winter Camp, modeled on summer camp with 21 merit badge courses offered. Adult volunteers, all registered with BSA as merit badge counselors, will serve as instructors and merit badge counselors. Our cook-from-scratch Cook Team will prepare meals and Cracker Barrel (evening social hour) desserts for weekend campers. Scouts may attend also for Saturday only as Day Campers. Please note weekend campers must be accompanied by a minimum of 2 adult leaders, unless you are a parent and child.
Registration fees:
Scout Day Camper fee $40
Scout Weekend Camper with meals fee $90
Scout Weekend Camper without meals fee $40
Adult Day Camper fee $22
Adult Weekend Camper with meals fee $50
Adult Weekend Camper without meals fee $22
Add-on fee for registration on or after December 1 for adults and Scouts $10
On-line registration transaction fee of 3% will be added to all registrations.
Fees for all Scout and adult participants cover printing costs, cleanup and camp supplies, event patch, first aid kit supplies for Tenderfoot and First Aid Merit Badge requirements, and flashlight.
For Scouts, we have a limited supply of college-type blue exam books for making notes and baseball card pages for cards for rank advancement, OA membership, aquatics recognitions, and blue cards, available at no charge.
Scouts may register as Day Campers for merit badge classes on Saturday, December 17.
Troops who wish to camp and to prepare their own meals in their campsites may register Scouts and adults as Weekend Campers without meals Friday, December 16 through Sunday, December 18 at noon, with 2-deep adult leadership camping with the troop on-site throughout the event.
Fees for Day Camper Scouts and adults, whether camping for the weekend or visiting for Saturday only, cover the cost of lunch on Saturday, December 17.
Scouts may register as Weekend Campers from Friday, December 16 through Sunday, December 18 at noon, with at least one parent as adult leadership camping with the Scout in a separate tent on-site throughout the event.
Fees for Weekend Camper with meals, Scouts and adults cover costs of Cracker Barrel on Friday night, prepared breakfast, lunch, and supper meals and Cracker Barrel desserts on Saturday, and prepared breakfast on Sunday, provided by our Winter Camp Cook Team in the Dining Hall kitchen.
Registration opens: October 13, 2022
Registration closes: For all classes on Monday, December 12, 2021 or when classes are full.
