S.E.A.L.S

 
 
The 2022-02 S.E.A.L.S. course will be held November 11 - 13, 2022 at Belk Scout Camp. Registration
for the course opens on Monday, September 5, 2022.
 
Background
S.E.A.L.S. (Scouts Excited About Leadership Skills) is designed to improve the leadership skills of
the scouts in your troop/crew. Participants will leverage the foundation from troop leadership training
and be shown how to apply and use leadership skills and Scout Spirit effectively in a scout-led
troop/crew.
 
Participant Requirements
• Recommendation of the Scoutmaster or Advisor
• Current (or soon to be) troop/crew leader (e.g., Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, Troop Guide, Quartermaster, Secretary, Treasurer, etc.)
• For Boy Scouts, the target age is 11-14. For Venture Crew Scouts, the target age is 14-16 for
those crew members who have never participated in a Boy Scout troop experience. Any age exceptions
need to be approved by the S.E.A.L.S. Scoutmaster.
• Participant should have completed Troop/Crew level leadership training for his/her position.
• Participant must have a full class A uniform to wear for the entire weekend.
• Participant must be willing and able to spend the entire weekend with unfamiliar scouts and scouters. Scouts from the same home unit will be placed in separate patrols.
• Participant must be willing and able to sign and live by the S.E.A.L.S. Code of Conduct. 
BSA Medical Form: All participants are required to submit a completed, up to date BSA medical form during check-in on Friday night to participant in the course. In addition, each participant must include a copy of the front and back of his/her medical insurance card.
 
Registration Process
Each troop/crew can recommend 2 (two) primary scouts and 2 (two) alternates on a first-come, first-
serve basis. If the course is not full (i.e., 70 participants) when open registration closes, alternates will be invited to complete the registration process and attend the course. 
 
Cost is $50 per primary scout (does not include any S.E.A.L.S. gear)

Once you click 'complete' and are on the checkput screen scroll down to order SEALS gear for your Scouts.
 
Required forms per primary Scout:
SEALS Code of Conduct: Each participant must submit a SEALS Code of Conduct signed by the participant and the participant’s parent or legal guardian during check-in on Friday night to participate in the course.
BSA Health form, required Parts “A” and “B”. All participants are required to submit a completed, up to date BSA medical form during check-in on Friday night to participant in the course. In addition, each participant must include a copy of the front and back of his/her medical insurance card.
Parent signature is required to be accepted

Important Dates
September 5, 2022 - Registration for the course opens
October 14, 2022 -    Registration for the course closes
October 17, 2022 -    Alternatives invited to complete registration 
October 24, 2022 -    Final date for alternates to complete registration
October 28, 2022 -    Finalize course participants with correct name spellings
October 28, 2022 -    Confirmation emails sent to Scoutmasters and Advisors of participants
November 11, 2022 - SEALS course begins
November 11, 2022 - Mandatory Scoutmaster meeting
 
S.E.A.L.S. Gear
• S.E.A.L.S. gear (t-shirts, hoodies, belts, belt buckles, and council shoulder patches) can be purchased.
• S.E.A.L.S. gear is optional and not included in the $50 registration fee.
• If a scout is interested in purchasing any S.E.A.L.S. gear, you can order during your registration.
• Please note that previous S.E.A.L.S. participants may also order t-shirts, hoodies, belts, belt buckles, and council shoulder patches.
• S.E.A.L.S. gear order forms must be received by October 14, 2022.
• Alternates should not order nor pay for S.E.A.L.S. gear until invited to complete registration.
• While participants may wear their S.E.A.L.S. t-shirts underneath their Class A shirts, each participant must wear a full Class A uniform for the entire course.
