Boy Scouts of America® Mecklenburg County Council

Fifty years ago, several troops from the southern part of Mecklenburg County Council came together to plan a weekend of camping, fun, and competition. Named the Elgixin Mechmauwikenk (meaning "Worthy Camper"), this event became the basis of district camporees in the area for the next five decades.

This year we are holding a celebration of 50 years of district camporees in our area in the form of Etowah's first Elgixin Mechmauwikenk Camporee.
