Belk Scout Camp (map)

On Saturday, October 2 and Sunday, October 3, 2010, the American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Basics Course will be taught at Belk Scout Camp.

The American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid is a sixteen-hour course designed to help in situations when help is not readily available.

Philmont requires that a least one person, preferably two, (either an advisor or a youth participant) in each crew be currently certified in American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid or the equivalent.

This will be the 16 hour course, with twelve (12) hours of instruction on Saturday and four (4) hours of instruction on Sunday. Participants can camp overnight at Belk Scout Camp if they desire, but will need to bring all their own camping gear. Saturday lunch and dinner and Sunday breakfast will be provided at no additional cost.

Maximum capacity of the course is 20 participants, so register early to assure a place. No walk-ins are allowed.

The Training Committee reserves the right to re-schedule or cancel courses if an insufficient number of Scouters pre-register for a course.
