District Committee Updates
We would like to welcome George MacBain as our new Apache District Chairman. He has served numerous roles with our District and Council over the past couple of years. Let’s also welcome Peter Olynick as our Communications Chairman for Apache District. We are looking for a couple of people to help coordinate our District Trail’s End Popcorn Sale for next year. If you are interested, see Del Whitaker or John Crapster. We will buy you a “corn husker hat!”

Geocaching
Come one, come all this Saturday, May 15th at 9am and be a part of our Cache In, Trash Out at McDowell Nature Preserve. We will meet at the waterfront shelter, the park is located at 15222 York Road in Charlotte. Bring a GPS Unit (if you have one), work gloves, trash bag, water bottle, snacks, trade items for caches, picnic lunch, pen or pencil.

Cub Scout Open House
Mark you calendars now Cub Scout leaders. Our annual open house recruit night at all Pack meeting locations will be on Thursday, August 26th starting at 7pm. Let Phil Adams know if you want to participate by emailing him at hrdadams@yahoo.com. This is a great way to recruit new Cub Scouts and their parents.

School Night for Scouting
Make plans now to have several volunteers present at the August 12th roundtable at Sharon Baptist Church. We will be going over the School Night recruiting game plan. All CMS schools will be open on one of the following dates: September 2, 15, 20 or 23 (please be prepared to give us your school preference at the roundtable if not before). We will need many volunteers to get involved to be successful this year. Please encourage your leadership to get involved and let’s get more youth involved in our great Scouting program.

Training Opportunities
There are some great training opportunities for adult leaders coming up. Please go to www.mcctraining.org for details.

Adult Leader Roundtables
Roundtable will be on the following dates at Sharon Baptist Church starting at 7:30pm:  June 10th and August 12th. July we will not have any district meetings including roundtable. The June and August Roundtables are extra important. Cub Scouts are rolling out a new delivery method that all Packs will need to deliver this fall. Many new exciting things are happening and we will be prepared to give these to you at the June roundtable.

Camp Card
Thank you to Harris Teeter, Coke, Bass Pro Shops, Domino’s, Jesse Browns, Jiffy Lube and Carowinds for allowing your business to participate. Units should have turned in your money to the Scout Office and cleared your account by now. If you have any questions, see your District Executive.
